Job Overview: 


The Senior Sales Account Financial Manager role reports to the Commercial Platform Manager and is responsible for the ownership of the commercial aspects of some DMS’ launch and current production programs. This position will work within a program team and will be a co-owner of the P&L for the assigned program(s).
 
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage customer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for DMS’ customer’s Purchasing Buyers, providing support for customer requests, and creating and developing strong customer relationships
  • Maintain credibility and integrity within DMS, customers and community
  • Clearly and accurately articulates the voice of the customer to DMS’ cross-functional team(s)
  • Manage, coordinate and lead the commercial aspects of a cross functional team consisting of costing, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, supply chain and product/process engineering for profitable engineering changes
  • Manage RFQ’s for on-time and accurate quote responses
  • Maintain Business Plans and is jointly responsible (with the program team) for their programs’ income statement
  • Work with a complex bill of material (BOM) to understand and cost a product
  • Work with a variety of manufacturing processes and related costs
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies
  • Defend product costs to our customers
  • Manage and respond to customer Capacity Study requests
  • Monitor and manage timeliness of payments and cash collection
  • Support VA/VE and cost reduction efforts
  • Successfully manage all commercial aspects of assigned programs
  • Manage resources on assigned programs: capital, tooling, SG&A and other investments to drive margin
  • Forecast financial spend and recovery
  • Have a strong understanding of product costing and how to determine costs (workcenters, labor, etc)  in order to properly price engineering changes or quotes to customers
  • Define, develop and implement processes in the Commercial realm to improve the consistency and efficiency of the team
  • Collaboratively develop and maintain pricing models to be used by entire organization
  • Mentor junior Account Managers, Assoc Account Managers and Interns
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

 

   The ideal candidate will possess or have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field is required
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred
  • A minimum of (8) years’ automotive experience (Tier-one servicing OEM)
  • Knowledge of automotive sales environment preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude, strong organizational skills, strong communicator, action-oriented
  • Knowledge of Ford systems and requirements highly preferred (WebQuote, WERS, CMMS)
  • Prior experience in Program Management, Finance, and Quality Systems is desired
  • Position requires a certain level of technical acumen in order to deal and negotiate with customer Product Development, Quality, Purchasing, and Cost Estimators
  • Position requires commercial/business acumen to manage P&L, negotiate price changes, manage customer volume commitments and understand their impact to the Business Plan.
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and SAP is preferred
