Job Overview: The Injection Molding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the injection molding operations. The supervisor will assist the manager to develop the capabilities of employees to work towards a lean production system.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that employees in assigned department(s) comply with all health, safety and regulatory Rules.
- Responsible for time and attendance, completing performance/competency evaluations, competency/training logs, providing feedback, motivation and disciplinary actions for employees in assigned department(s).
- Coach, mentor, train and motivate staff.
- Provide continuous improvement of production efficiencies, scrap and quality levels production.
- Understand the philosophy and technical aspects of lean manufacturing.
- Develop lean culture within the manufacturing environment and lead the departments in Kaizen and lean thinking initiatives.
- Conducts team meetings and maintain necessary documents.
- Promote team activities and participation.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Reviews previous team’s production to determine the requirements for his team.
- Coordinates the daily work activities such as; set-up, mold changes, color changes, material requirements, receiving materials, quantity requirements, job start-up and
- job shut-down, etc.
- Develops and Maintains Team leader routines with weekly reviews of completed routines
- Ensure 5S is respected
- Ensure Plant KPI’s are met
- Ensure the shift runs to required RTO
- Work with Team Lead to ensure polyvalence level is maintained to requirements for all operators
- Sign off on all 1st pieces
- Develop and assist team leaders with KPI Gap board
- Assist and coach line QRCi with team leaders
- Standardized work reviews with team leaders
- Assist Team Lead in preparing following days top 5 sheet.
Requirements:
- Be able to manage crew of 20-25 people (union)
- Manufacturing experience in plastic injection molding preferred
- Team player with leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Self-disciplined.
- Good mechanical and computer skills.
- Ability to work cross functionally with other teams.
