St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church – Baton Rouge, LA

St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in the upkeep of all parish buildings and grounds. This role supports the Facilities Manager by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the church, school, and Parish Activity Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general facility upkeep.
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager and Parish Activity Center Coordinator to address maintenance needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness and security of parish buildings, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
• Monitor lighting, climate control, and overall facility conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, and carry at least 80 lbs.
• Ability to work in various conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Must be capable of prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders or mechanical lifts.
• Comfort working at heights and handling cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Ability to access roofs, inspect for damage and clean down drains.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support the Catholic identity of the parish.
