Math Associate Professor (Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, and Statistics)

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Academic Support 
    • Excellent delivery of courses (8 - 10 courses annually) across any/all modalities.
    • Advising and mentoring of students.
  • University Service
    • Regular engagement in the development of courses.
    • Participate in accreditation and assessment-related activities.
    • Provide engagement and support for curriculum-related projects and initiatives.
    • Conduct curriculum- and program-related data review, analysis, and reporting.
    • Advising and mentoring of Visiting Professors.
    • Engagement and support for group programs and initiatives.
    • Support Transitional Studies and Foundations Math areas (algebra) along with DeVry’s standard General Education Math (algebra, quantitative reasoning, and statistics).
    • Support learning technologies in the curriculum.
  • Professional Development 
    • Engage in scholarly activity, including keeping up to date in one’s field of study

Qualifications:

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Research Methods, or math-related field (subject to approval), or out-of-field doctorate with a minimum of 15 graduate course credit hours in Mathematics, Statistics, or math-related discipline.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with Advanced Excel.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience teaching in the online environment.
  • A minimum of three years of post-secondary teaching and/or curriculum development experience.
  • Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ongoing scholarly activity that reflects current knowledge in the discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in Learning Management Systems (Canvas LMS preferred).
  • A minimum of three years of industry experience appropriate to the course subject matter.
  • All Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent
