Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Programmer Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining student information system software applications (e.g., Banner, Degree Works, Banner Workflow). The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and application support.
Responsibilities:
- Translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Design, develop and maintain applications based on project requirements and business process needs.
- Design and develop data flow solutions between system internal and external systems.
- Write, test and debug code to ensure high performance and functionality.
- Analyze and assess current system processes for improvements.
- Provide ongoing support and remediation to technical issues.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Communicates and maintains a productive working relationship with user base of product / service line as well as all appropriate parties to an assignment, both internal and external to IT.
- Reports appropriate and corrects status to project leadership, Manager, and Director.
- Participates in system review sessions and product strategy sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Information Technology (or equivalent work experience) required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL, Java, PL/SQL, Groovy/Grails, Shell scripting and Java Script
- Understanding of UNIX/Linux, Client/Server, PC Development Tools, Internet/Intranet
- At least two years' experience with various operating environments, toolsets, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical skill set, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, and Problem Solving.
- Must be motivated and be able to contribute to a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of performance.
- Understanding of RAD, SDLC, Client Server / Distributed Application Design and Development.
Salary 80-85k
