2170 - 27127  Solutions Architect

 

DeRoyal, delivering high quality medical products and innovative healthcare services, is actively searching for a Solutions Architect to join our Technical Services team.  The Solutions Architect will own the development of a comprehensive and cohesive IT strategy from a systems perspective within the domains of ownership.  Initial focus will be needed to help ensure all critical software systems are well understood and documented within the context of the business functionality supported.  Current technology will need evaluated and a roadmap will need to be developed and implemented, all while appropriately managing risk to the business.  In addition to the strategic planning, this position will also be expected to be able to perform senior-level technical tasks to help implement and support new endeavors. 

 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

 

Own the ERP, CRM, SCM, CMS, e-commerce system portfolio and recommend strategic investments 

 

Ensure current systems architecture is well understood and documented, which should include functional technology stack diagrams, architecture framework map, use case mapping, application architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and physical architecture diagrams

 

Understand current system capabilities and identify gaps that exist and ensure current product feature sets are leveraged to maximize business value

 

Identify new technologies that can help make the company more efficient/competitive (Solicit RFPs, manage proof of concepts, develop executive proposals, sponsor implementations and integrations)

 

Help develop the needed IT Governance to ensure cohesive operational processes align with the IT strategy (should include data governance strategy)

 

Define disaster recovery and business continuity plans and facilitate needed simulations to test operational readiness

 

Drive real world measurements of cost savings or revenue gains due to changes in technology

 

Provide "on-call" support after hours when needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advanced knowledge of ERP, CRM, SCM, CMS, and e-commerce systems and proposing technical solutions to senior management

 

Proven ability to break down very technical and complex technical systems and their interdependencies

 

Experience with a mixed on-prem and cloud architecture, as well as experience migrating major systems to the cloud

 

Experience with structured programming, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices strongly desired

 

Possesses ability to solicit business requirements and translate those into modern system architectures

 

Excellent communication and writing skills as well as ability to create technical diagrams

 

Enjoys the pursuit of knowledge and possesses strong ability to learn and use new systems, tools and techniques

 

Possesses ability to work in a project team environment or on an individual basis.

 

Experience in a medium-sized manufacturing company, or the following software: JD Edwards ERP, Data Access Studio, Loftware, Nicelabel, StreamServe, SmarterCommerce, SalesForce, Microstrategy, TIE Smartbridge,  a plus

 

Possesses ability to be self-motivated with a strong attention to detail

 

Possesses ability to multitask and balance the urgent with the important.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus 10 years of previous work experience as a Software Developer, System Engineer, Technical Admin, Architect or combination thereof.
