POSITION SUMMARY — Responsible for guiding production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications and safety procedures. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as assemblers, inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators
- Confer with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and shifts
- Inspect materials, products, equipment and building facilities to detect defects or malfunctions
- Observe work and monitor OEE, gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
- Conduct employee training on equipment and operations in for quality in station work procedures and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
- Track, submit, and approve attendance and hours worked through company time keeping system and payroll system
- Confer with management to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency
- Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hires, evaluations, promotions and terminations
- Ensure production is meeting quality standards
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Fill in for shift manager as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
- Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with equipment and tools being used

- Ability to effectively manage people in a production environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, and human resources
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate’s Degree preferred
Experience: Three to five years of manufacturing or management experience preferred; Previous quality experience preferred
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using MS Office and MRP systems
