POSITION SUMMARY — Produce components and/or final product by assembling parts and subassemblies. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assemble parts according to the QIS work instruction, control plan, or blueprint using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, tape or other fastening methods
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates fixtures or reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component
  • Resolve assembly problems by verifying dimensions to meet specifications; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to read QIS work instruction, control plan, or blueprint
  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
  • Effectively communicate
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Maintain the production pace of other team members
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and various equipment as needed
 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred
Experience: Any manufacturing and/or assembly experience preferred
Computer Skills:  Must demonstrate computer literacy
