POSITION SUMMARY — Responsible for the design, fabrication and implementation of new and existing products, tooling and processes in a manufacturing environment to reduce waste and improve efficiencies that result in product cost reductions. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Use analytical thinking and creativity to create new processes, design and solve problems
  • Design and coordinate the fabrication of tooling and racking for various paint systems
  • Coordinate the disposition of hard tooling in product or program lifecycle management
  • Assist program managers and Tool & Die with asset management
  • Evaluate obsolete material on a quarterly basis
  • Aid in the design or redesign of new products and or existing products as assigned
  • Confirm product performance with testing
  • Assist in plant layout drawing for all warehouse and fabrication facilities
  • Attend various APQP and manager meetings on a weekly basis
  • Assist Process and Lean Engineering on projects as assigned
  • Conduct high priority or time sensitive project takeover to ensure completion when necessary
  • Develop methods and processes that results in cost reduction
  • Recognize and find solutions to manufacturing problems
  • Assist with fixturing, checking aids and production support items
  • Other Duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Technology required Experience: Two to four years of previous work in manufacturing or engineering environment preferred Computer Skills: Proficient skills using Microsoft Office including Visio; Proficient using Solid works and Auto CAD Other Requirements:
