POSITION SUMMARY — Provide technical manufacturing support to manufacturing operations. Set up, test, evaluate, and adjust manufacturing machinery or equipment, using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatics, or computer technologies. Increase efficiency and decrease waste using the principles of lean manufacturing and continual improvement. Review total production process from an engineering perspective. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Use Lean Tools to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction in a manufacturing environment.
- Plan, manage and implement process improvements.
- Collect, verify and analyze data related to production processes.
- Collabroate with cross0functional teams to support ongoing improvement projects.
- Participate in and help facilitate successful Kaizen improvement events.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Understanding of measuring tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, blueprints, plant layouts and control plans
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office and CAD software
