All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance and availability for overtime as needed:

Requirements - Operations Tech 1:

  • Demonstrate behavior and alignment with Company Core Values and Avon Employee Attributes
  • Active participant in 1st party audit program and meet zero overdue principle for audits and required training o
  • Trained and proficient in performing all tasks, per the training matrix/checklist for:
  • Packout
  • Level 1 Control room/field operations
  • Raw materials unloading/handling
  • Hazardous waste labeling and handling
  • Perform autonomous maintenance and 5S/housekeeping tasks associated with job duties
  • Perform all standard work in accordance with schedules and checklists
  • Be vigilant and observant of plant/product conditions--act to correct or mitigate any safety, core value, quality, or facility/equipment issues that arise
 

 

  • Operating technicians work rotating 12-hour day/evening shifts within a 4 day on 4 day off sequence. Additional shifts are required, as needed, to cover manpower shortages or other urgent needs. Operating Technicians are paid on a progressive skill-based, pay structure. All operating technicians are required to reach Operations Tech 3 level. Promotion to the next level is based on the following:
  • Meet minimum time in current level
  • Demonstrated behavior aligned with Elessent Elessentials and Avon Employee Attributes
  • Satisfactory performance reviews and no written disciplinary action in the 12 months prior to promotion
  • Complete all required training certifications and be able to perform the work proficiently and independently (minimum of 6 months) prior to promotion based on the training matrix

While performing the duties of these jobs, the employee is regularly required to:

 

  • Stand, walk, and use arms and hands to handle, feel, reach, pull, turn, grasp, and carry items
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

  • Talk and hear
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 88 pounds with assistance
  • Be able and willing to wear all PPE required for a high hazard, chemical industrial manufacturing environment and completion of maintenance work tasks
  • Be able and willing to wear a respirator both continuously or intermittently throughout the shift
  • Be able and willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Climb up and down staircases, ladders, and scaffolding multiple times per hour/day

The employee will work in an industrial, high hazard chemical manufacturing environment. The employee is required to work both indoor and outdoor, and is routinely exposed to outside weather elements. During the normal course of work, the employee may work in and/or be exposed to confined space, heights, noise, vibration, dust, cold, heat, chemicals, gases, and substances under pressure.

  • Must practice safe work practices at all times and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Associate degree, trade certifications, or other relevant professional certifications (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial plant operations or maintenance experience or equivalent education

Technical Proficiency

  • PLC/HMI familiarity and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, indicating proficiency in using industrial automation and software tools for manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to safely operate industrial manufacturing equipment and maintenance tools, showcasing technical competence in equipment operation.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving, demonstrating the ability to identify and address issues effectively in an industrial setting.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, essential for effective collaboration and information exchange within the manufacturing environment.

Drivers License Requirement

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, enabling transportation for work-related tasks and responsibilities.
