Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

 

The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting activities within the organization. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with various departments across the organization to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data for reporting purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including management reports, debt reporting requirements and Board of Directors presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and consolidate financial data from various business units, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, assess the impact on financial reporting, and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support to external auditors during financial statement audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and resolving audit issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the financial reporting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP for complex transactions.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  •  CPA preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting.
  • Public accounting firm or publicly traded company experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal Travel Required (1 – 2 times per year)
