Product Manager, SES
The Product Manager, State Examination System (SES) will oversee the development, management, and enhancement of SES, a cutting-edge platform supporting state financial regulators in their supervision of financial services entities. This role requires strategic leadership to define the product vision, translate regulatory and user needs into actionable requirements, and prioritize features to optimize the platform’s effectiveness. As a key driver of SES evolution, the Product Manager will collaborate with state regulators, development vendors, and internal teams to ensure the system aligns with CSBS’s mission of supporting state financial supervision. This role also involves ensuring SES remains responsive to emerging industry trends, regulatory demands, and user feedback.

- Lead SES Development and Improvement: Manage the full lifecycle of SES product development, from requirements gathering to implementation, to address user needs and regulatory priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between state regulators, industry users, development vendors, and CSBS teams to ensure the platform meets stakeholder expectations.
- Strategic Roadmap Management: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that reflects SES’s strategic objectives and user needs, ensuring alignment with CSBS goals.
- Enhance User Experience: Work closely with regulators and industry stakeholders to incorporate feedback and enhance the usability, functionality, and performance of SES.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with internal teams such as Product Operations, Business Services, and IT to align system design and functionality with broader organizational goals.
- Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on technical aspects of SES development, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data analysis and user metrics to inform decision-making and prioritize system enhancements.
- Drive Product Innovation: Stay informed on emerging technologies, regulatory updates, and industry trends to guide SES improvements and innovation.
- Regulatory Alignment: Ensure SES complies with evolving regulatory requirements and supports the needs of state regulatory agencies.
- Help team members and the organization understand the technical aspects of the product development process via communication that a non-technical audience will understand.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering or equivalent experience. 5-7 years of relevant business, technology and product (technical product a plus) management experience; software architecture or engineering experience is a plus.
- A proven background in building and managing product roadmaps and experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the Financial Services, Regulatory or Federal Government industries is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, and technical requirements involved in product lifecycle management. Familiar with hosting environments, open and closed source libraries, and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of the theory and practical application of software development methodologies.
- Well-versed in Agile methodologies and practices.
- Strong risk analysis that results in proactive solutions and risk-management measures.
- Possesses a goal-oriented and metrics-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Requirements
- Due to the nature of CSBS’s business in support of state financial services supervision, all CSBS employees have the potential of interacting with confidential information related to the supervision of financial services companies (“Confidential Supervisory Information”). As a result, in addition to general business conflicts of interest, all CSBS employees are expected to disclose conflicts of interest in financial services companies on at least an annual basis and to proactively avoid such conflicts.
- Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CSBS information and information systems in accordance with CSBS policies and procedures.
- Must be eligible to obtain or currently possess a U.S. Government clearance at the Public Trust Moderate (NACI) level or higher.
- Must be a United States citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) with at least three (3) years consecutive residence in the United States as indicated on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) LPR issued card.
