Position:              Cheerleading Manager & Choreographer

Department:        Entertainment

Reports to:          Director of Entertainment

Status:                 Full-time (Exempt)

 

Position Summary

The Carolina Panthers are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and organized individual to join our Entertainment team as the Cheerleading Manager and Choreographer. This position will lead our cheer teams with passion, creativity, and a strong sense of organization. This role will be responsible for choreographing routines, managing team practices, and fostering a positive, supportive environment that encourages growth and teamwork. Leadership will play a key part in supporting the organization’s vision and goals. With exceptional organizational abilities and communication skills, this position will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of excellence while guiding our cheerleading team to success both on and off the field. Additionally, the Cheerleading Manager & Choreographer will collaborate with sponsors and partners to ensure seamless event execution and strong community engagement. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the cheerleading program's budget, ensuring that resources are managed efficiently to support team activities and growth.

 

Primary Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

 

Games

  • Develop and create engaging performances
  • Select, edit and record game day music
  • Prepare paperwork for appearances and field assistants
  • Lead game day run-through
  • Provide supervision of cheerleaders on game day appearances
  • Manage field assistants

 

Audition Clinic/Auditions

  • Field a team of 25 performers
  • Lead promotion and recruiting efforts
  • Oversee responses to inquiries
  • Oversee information in database
  • Oversee the set-up and day-of operations
  • Teach routines to contestants

 

Rehearsals

  • Set season schedule
  • Organize rehearsals
  • Teach performance routines
  • Lead game day run through
  • Maintain sound equipment

 

Appearances

  • Lead promotion and marketing efforts
  • Develop and create new revenue generating appearances
  • Manage details with clients
  • Supervise when necessary
  • Work with Entertainment Assistant to track payments and budget transfers

 

Junior TopCats

  • Lead promotion and recruiting efforts
  • Update information in database
  • Oversee set-up and day-of operations
  • Oversee choreography and distribution of any necessary video links

 

Budget

  • Track and maintain TopCats budget

 

Media

  • Work with communications team to respond to inquiries
  • Manage photo and video shoots
  • Oversee all promotional collateral
  • Work closely with Digital Team to create and develop engaging content for TopCats social media

 

Partnerships

  • Collaborate with our Partnership team to identify TopCats partners
  • Maintain and grow relationships to help enrich the TopCats program
  • Execute partner deliverables

 

Miscellaneous

  • Maintain locker room equipment and pods
  • Develop and create new revenue-generating programs
  • Manage all costuming and apparel
  • Provide routine music selections in advance of teaching
  • Schedule and perform mid-year and end-of-year evaluation meetings.
  • Support the Entertainment team with projects and initiatives as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in dance coaching or as an assistant coach.
  • Strong background in dance or gymnastics.
  • Must have demonstrated choreography experience and must be skilled in creating innovative routines that showcase the team's talents and align with competitive standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of dance, with background in the performing arts, including experience in hip hop, jazz, modern dance.
  • Ability to choreograph unique high energy routines and teach them to dance team members.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with performers of varying skill levels.
  • Ability and desire to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. This role is expected to work every home game during the NFL season, plus occasional travel and special events.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens
  • Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information carefully and with sensitivity

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance, Choreography, Applied Dance, Dance Education, or a related field.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter, independent, creative, ambitious, innovative, results-oriented
  • Must exhibit professionalism when interacting with staff and key stakeholders throughout the organization

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to physically demonstrate dance routines and techniques.
  • Must have the ability to perform and teach various dance movements.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, twisting

 

Work Environment

This job operates in all areas of the stadium facility both inside and outside.  At times it may include inclement weather working conditions.
