Position:         Legends Affairs Intern

Department:   Player Affairs

Reports to:     Director of Legend Affairs

Status:            Intern (non-exempt)

Duration:        Up to 12 months

           

Job Summary:

The Legend Affairs Intern position will work across our Player Affairs departments respectively, primarily focused on Legends engagement, while supporting Player Affairs special projects as needed.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support development of sustainable programming furthering new and existing relationships with former Carolina Panthers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database and meticulous notes.
  • Contribute to master calendar for Player Affairs Department
  • Effectively manage internal and external relationships and requests pertaining to Legends activations.
  • Collaborate with Director and relative departments on all Legends communications including but not limited to, newsletters, tentpole events, NFL programming, etc.
  • Capable and comfortable establishing rapport with Legends by phone, email and in-person events.
  • Facilitate appearances in various professional settings. Accompanying Legend(s) as needed.
  • Assist in tracking all appearances, invoices, check requests, and routine expenses.
  • Manage apparel inventory and fulfill approved memorabilia/donation requests.
  • Execute gameday activations and contractually obligated requests as assigned.
  • Demonstrate large-scale organizational skills pertaining to all Legend events logistics.
  • Work in concert with Director to compile necessary data for Player Affairs reports.
  • Support and maintain overall efficiency and effectiveness of department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience or similar role.
  • Experience working in professional and/or collegiate sports preferred
  • Must have a general understanding of athlete relations and professional sports landscape.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to, Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must be a reliable team-player, while demonstrating ability to work independently.
  • Must be available during necessary hours within the NFL schedule. Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Excellent organizational skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Pro-active self-starter with the ability to accept instruction.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and deliver effective solutions.
  • Strategic analysis and data analysis background is a plus.
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality of privileged, and/or sensitive information.

 

Work Environment:

  • This job operates mostly in an office environment and outside in a stadium facility (at times which may include inclement weather conditions.
