Summary:

In this role you must be passionate about the food and beverage industry and execute a Cosmworthy experience, while creating a memorable experience for our guests.

A bartender at Cosm ensures the highest level of hospitality is delivered to their guests at all times by providing best-in-class food and beverage service, friendly interactions with both fans and fellow team members, and a positive attitude at all times. Bartenders are required to be experienced mixologists and knowledgeable about all food and beverage offerings, viewing content, and upcoming events.

Responsibilities:

  • Applicant must be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. The individual must also follow all appropriate Cosm policies and procedures outlined in the training manuals and employee handbook.
  • Prepares section so that it is ready at scheduled time.
  • Is knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus, specials, seasonal beers and drinks.
  • Accurately and timely enters all food and beverage orders into the POS with minimal errors.
  • Focuses on a one-team approach by helping other team members to ensure fan satisfaction.
  • Maintains a clean work station throughout shift.
  • Follows all company accounting policies and procedures regarding credit card and gift card transactions.
  • Follows all company accounting policies and procedures regarding discounts, promos and team member meals.
  • Engages fans, coworkers, and managers with a positive, friendly, professional approach during all interactions.
  • Ensures each fan has a Cosmworthy experience of upon entering and leaving our venue.
  • Is knowledgeable of the Company’s products, services, current promotions, and recurring events.
  • Willingly, and with positive attitude, follows direction of all supervisors, including additional requests for side work, cleaning, etc.
  • Follows State Liquor laws and Company policies regarding the service of any alcoholic beverage and enforcement of ordinances and laws.
  • Attends all on-going food, bar, or service trainings, when scheduled.
  • Complies with, and supports, all policies set forth by the Cosm employee handbook and training manuals.
  • Keeps china/glass breakage to a minimum.
  • Rotates and stocks all coolers with the proper products and amounts required.
  • Prepares all alcoholic drinks in accordance to Company recipes and standards.
  • Consistently uses a jigger and follow all drink procedures for alcoholic drinks to always ensure consistency.
  • Ensures liquor loss is minimal and be committed to cost control.
  • Alcohol storage areas are always kept locked and secure.
  • Thorough knowledge of bar set-up and closing.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, based on the need volume of the operation (late hours, holidays, weekend, etc.)
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates good time management skills and communication skills.
  • Follows Company and state safety guidelines to provide a safe working environment.

Experience:

  • 2+ years previous bartending experience required, preferably in a fast-paced full-service establishment.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Excellent communication and professional interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be fluent in English and able to write in basic English.
  • Food handlers’ card and state recognized responsible alcohol certification.
  • Must be of legal age to create and pour alcoholic beverages in accordance with local and state laws.
  • Must be able to continuously stand, walk and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, reach overhead, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Will be occasionally kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Will seldom be climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting over 50 pounds.

The hourly rate for this position in California is $18. The pay offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
