Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Slitter Monitor to assist with the effective and efficient setup of slitting operations. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate preparation and monitoring of materials to meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy machinery, a keen eye for quality, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up the slitter machine while prioritizing the safety of yourself and fellow team members.
• Review work orders to ensure all requirements, including material type, size, and customer specifications, are accurately met.
• Verify details such as material dimensions, customer instructions, and specifications before starting jobs.
• Monitor material quality during operations, identifying and addressing any defects promptly.
• Take and upload pictures into the system for quality assurance and documentation during jobs.
• Support the Slitter Operator and Helper in their tasks as needed.
• Observe and report knife conditions, ensuring proper maintenance and replacement as necessary.

Position Requirements:

• Proficiency in reading tape measures and converting decimals to inches.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and system updates.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with others.
• Exceptional attention to detail for verifying material specifications and identifying defects.
• Experience in recognizing steel defects and taking corrective actions.
• Familiarity with heavy machinery and its safe operation.
