Through continuous innovations in tissue processing technology and surgical devices, advocacy for patient access and simplified payor reimbursement policies, CorneaGen is advancing the next generation of cornea care. In support of this goal, we are looking for a Donor Eligibility Coordinator to join our team based out of our Boston, Massachusetts site.

What does a Donor Eligibility Coordinator do?

Under the direction of Donor Eligibility Management, the Donor Eligibility Coordinator will conduct all tasks related to donor eligibility, tissue suitability, and distribution of donated tissue that enhances and improves lives globally.  The incumbent will be expected to steward each donor’s Gift by ensuring standardized operational practices are effectively executed at the local level and by seeking continual improvement opportunities to maximize the value of the Gift.

• Reviews all relevant and required donor records to determine donor eligibility for transplant, research and education, or destruction in accordance with the EBAA Medial Standards, FDA applicable regulations and the CorneaGen policies and procedures.
• Reviews donor record information for completion and accuracy, obtains missing information and resolves open items in compliance with CorneaGen policies and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of donor related information.
• Assists in completion of tissue suitability, that may include specular or slit lamp microscopy.
• Assists in the distribution of donated tissue, that may include basic processing, and/or packaging.
• Contributes innovative ideas or techniques, which result in better service or improve the quality of work at CorneaGen.
• Communicates with Distribution / Customer Service regarding tissue status and local needs.

• Must be able to work extended hours, nights, and weekends when needed.

What compensation and benefits do you offer?
The minimum wage for this position is $24.00 hourly and the maximum wage is $26.25 hourly. Individual compensation will vary within this range based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position.

What are you looking for in the ideal candidate?

To be successful as a Donor Eligibility Coordinator, the ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in life science or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• The ability to work under pressure and time constraints. 
• The availability to work weekdays and weekends and/or on a rotating schedule as needed.
• The ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality.
