Job Overview:
Cooper Machinery Services is currently seeking a paid Engineering Summer Intern. The purpose of this internship is to design and build a production test stand for Cooper Hyper Fuel Valves, as well as the development of the supporting documentation surrounding the test procedure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The intern's primary responsibility will be to design and document the new test stand.
- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the design or integration of new components into existing installations.
- Modify existing BOMs and Drawings, as necessary to support product revisions or enhancements.
- Assist the engineers with the preparation of technical data to internal and external customers
- Ensure Cooper's drawings and engineering standards are accurate and legible
- Process Engineering Work Requests, requiring any drawing or BOM updates
Work closely with Cooper's drafting resources to ensure new or revised drawings are accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Must be mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of an oscilloscope and proximity probes
- Must have a basic understanding of industry standards and ASME Code
Must be able to read, revise and create detailed drawings, assembly drawings and customer's blueprint, as necessary.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must work well in a team environment, have strong organizational skills and be able to multitask effectively.
- Qualified candidates will be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree at an Accredited University (typically sophomore through senior year)
