Tournament Manager $80,000 Annual

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
More than half of job duties include:
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all tournaments; managing and staffing qualified Dealers for tournament operation in an ethical, professional and effective manner.
- Plans and directs work of Tournament Staff and Tournament Dealers.
- Initiating corrective/disciplinary action as necessary per Company policies.
- Supervising and providing training for Tournament Staff and Tournament Dealers, coaching on best practices and procedures.
- Assists in creating and implementing policies and standard operating procedures related to Tournaments.
- Setting performance standards and work goals for Tournament Staff and Tournament Dealers. Continually assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of work performed.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
- Submits ideas for new tournaments, organizes and coordinates all Poker tournaments, including communicating with all tournament related departments to ensure proper promotion, set up of equipment and scheduling of service personnel during tournaments.
- Forecasts tournament dealer headcount/scheduling requirements and participate in evaluation process for hiring new tournament dealers.
- Keeps abreast of tournament events sponsored by other card clubs.
- Correcting and updating the tournament staff procedure training manuals.
- Reviewing payroll documents to correlate work hours for each pay period from the tournament staff.
- Ensuring all employees comply with Company and department policies.
- Assists and participates in all Poker Games special events and promotions.
- Works cohesively with all departments to improve Casino operations and employee/customer relations.
- Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the Poker Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Requirements: 3-5 years experience dealing Poker Games and tournament experience in Casino gaming operations. Teaching experience preferred.
Education: College degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Licenses: Must obtain and maintain a Key Employee License from the Bureau of Gambling Control.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have knowledge of Casino gaming rules, dealing procedures, and Casino operations, including familiarity with staffing, conducting performance reviews, Casino’s progressive discipline procedures and conflict resolutions.
- Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills with management, employees and patrons, and knowledge of all applicable federal and state laws.
- Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
- Outstanding attendance/punctuality.
- Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance.
- Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position.
SCHEDULED HOURS
Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
