The Clinical Staff Educator Registered Nurse ((RN) uses his/her knowledge of nursing and home health and hospice to educate current and new staff members on all aspects of home health and hospice.
The Clinical Staff Educator Registered Nurse (RN) will help to coordinate orientation for all new staff members focusing on proper patient care, procedures and documentation to improve the outcomes of our patients and ensure staff is following regulations. The Clinical Staff Educator Registered Nurse (RN) will ensure that each clinician is receiving the individualized education needed to be a successful home health or hospice clinician.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CLINICAL STAFF EDUCATOR REGISTERED NURSE:
- Registered professional nurse with a current valid Pennsylvania license. BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current experience as a professional nurse in a medical/surgical work area and two (2) years of home health/hospice experience preferred.
- Skilled in critical thinking, communication, negotiation and collaboration.
- Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a vehicle with insurance limits as established by the state
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with conducting orientation of all new clinical field staff.
- Travels to various offices to assist with educational needs of that entity
- Develops education and checklists and keeps all educational materials current.
- Develops the schedule for all newly-hired staff members
- Works with the branch manager and supervisors in the office to transition new staff members off of orientation.
- Organizes yearly competency fairs.
- Continues understanding and education on OASIS and best care practices.
- Organizes in-services with the offices for all staff.
- Keeps accurate records of all education in the computer data base for easy tracking.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
