Position Summary:
The Leave Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient administration and delicate handling of employee leave and accommodation requests, fostering a positive work culture, and maintaining compliance with relevant labor laws and company policies. This position requires a meticulous and organized individual who can manage leave and accommodation requests, maintain accurate records, and provide guidance to employees and management regarding leave related matters. This position works promptly with key partners to resolve conflict, coordinate leave components, and maintain high levels of performance and retention with the leave management process.
This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to Director of Total Rewards.
What you will do:
- Serves as the primary in-house contact for employee absences and all leave requests while working closely with our third-party vendor Mutual of Omaha, for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Educates employees on leave processes and procedures; works with third party vendor to ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws as it relates to FMLA, ADA, Short-term and Long-term Disability and other leave and accommodation issues.
- Provides information, interpretation, advice, and training for employees and managers regarding leaves. Partners with other HR leaders and HRBPs for escalated issues.
- Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave or accommodation. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation including notice required to qualify for and to take leave pertaining to their state of residence.

Qualifications:
- High-school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a leave administration or generalist role with emphasis on leave coordination.
- Prior experience working in a remote environment with a large hourly non-exempt population highly desired.
- Experience working with HRIS systems; Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adjust readily to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change.
- Knowledge of employment laws and practices related to civil rights, equal employment opportunity, job classification, recruitment, benefit practices and workers compensation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, presentation, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours across US time zones.
- Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams)
Physical Demands:
Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
- Sitting, standing, and walking (95-100%)
- Keyboarding (40-60%)
- Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (95-100%)
Work Environment
100% Remote: Work environment is at home.
Compensation:
