Jr. Buyer Aftermarket Parts

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Aftermarket Parts Jr. Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement activities of the Aftermarket Parts Procurement team and is responsible to help meet cost, quality, and availability objectives. The position is responsible for monitoring supplier delivery performance, establishing priorities and problem solving to assure availability to meet customer commitments.   This position reviews past due promise dates and negotiates with suppliers to develop recovery plans to clear backorder situations.  Additionally, the position resolves discrepancies at receiving.

This position will be located onsite in our Global HQ office in Flower Mound, TX. This position does not offer remote work. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform a wide range of procurement duties involving all types of parts, components, and materials for assigned commodities.
• Performs Expedite/De-Expedite report execution to meet customer demand and customer service expectations.
• Daily execution of past due/backorder reports, expedite deliveries, obtain advance-shipping notices, update promise dates and delivery data in the system.
• Work with Finance and Receiving to resolve price/quantity discrepancies and shipping/receipt discrepancies with the Suppliers. 
• Must exhibit “all sense of urgency” for the order fulfillment to suppliers and end customers. 
• Assist  Buyers in preparing supplier scorecards and supplier performance data
• Actively participate with the procurement teams in special projects as requested.
• Assist in maintaining supplier, lead time and costing information in ERP system.
• Communicate specifications to suppliers and coordinates related technical questions between Suppliers and technical support personnel.
• Assist with identifying best suppliers and negotiate various terms and quality expectations while fostering relationships and genuine partnerships for optimal supply chain needs. This includes participation in  meetings, visits etc with Suppliers. 
• Assist in preparing, sending and receiving quote request forms to and from potential suppliers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years experience in an administrative position in a procurement, purchasing, materials or inventory planning department.
• Basic knowledge in procurement methods and techniques.

• Ability to communicate effectively with others internally and externally at various levels of the organization through clear, concise writing and telephone usage.
• Ability to handle volume and mix of assignments daily.
• Must have excellent data entry skills, good interpersonal skills, strong organization and documentation skills
• Self-motivated with a high degree of confidence and energy level.
• Ability to problem solve, take supervision and direction from Managers and Senior Buyer Team Leaders.
• Proficient in using ERP software and MS Office
• Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely, without sponsorship
