Forklift Product Service Specialist

The Forklift Product Specialist is a position that is focused on providing product application recommendations and technical assistance to dealers to support their sales efforts. This includes responding to calls, emails and online inquiries requesting capacities, special quotes, competitive information, and pricing. In addition, the position involves the creation of marketing and technical information used by the dealer sales force.
This position will be an ONSITE position located in the Flower Mound, TX facility.
Essential job functions
- Provide guidance and answers to questions from dealers and sales reps including specifications, options, special quotes, capacities, attachments, EPA/CARB/OSHA/ITSDF/ANSI adherence, batteries & chargers. Required to respond to dealer requests for information.
- Maintain competitive specification files to support internal product development decisions.
- Review competitive literature and provide guidance to Sales and Marketing on scope creation for new development projects.
- Respond to dealer requests when needed to support sales efforts.
- Coordinate efforts and provide data to industry resources such as Lift Truck Guru & EQGURU to ensure our dealers and end-users are supplied with comprehensive, detailed, analytic and competitive information regarding our forklifts.
- In-depth knowledge of assigned product line price pages. Able to train dealers on how to use price pages to configure a complete truck.
- Must understand the basics of lift truck stability to answer basic dealer inquiries regarding forks and attachments effect on truck stability. Respond to dealers with both sales quotes for new opportunities as well as factory authorizations to allow them to modify any CLARK trucks in their inventory. Must understand and be able to use the concept of moments to calculate capacity.
- Assist the sales force with proper application of aftermarket attachments.
- Process engineering special quotes (ESQ) in response to dealer needs. Work with CLARK engineering (USA and abroad) or other suppliers to ensure adequacy of technical information needed to design and price new options.
- Maintain all information in ESQ database.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining narrative and technical data for specification sheets, feature brochures, walk-around guides and general PowerPoint presentations to support sales efforts. Work closely with Marketing to update or create new spec sheets and brochures.
- Travel to new dealers and other dealerships as needed to conduct new product training. Conduct product training in Lexington for various on-site courses.
- Assist CLARK aftermarket parts with technical information related to parts or options.
- Assist order entry and other departments with technical information related to order codes, configuration rules and ESQ’s.
- Assist and train dealers on how to find information in the dealer portal.
- Perform competitive model review prior to new model introduction. Assist Sales and marketing in creation of new product scope.
- Coordinate field testing of new models at various test sites.
- Review large orders for technical accuracy.
- Assist Marketing in naming of new products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of the forklift and Material Handling Industry to be able to advise, and direct customers and dealers with technical assistance regarding specifications, options, special quotes, capacities, attachments, regulatory compliance and adherence, batteries & chargers, and other needed information.
- Bachelor’s degree, in business administration, communications, or marketing or equivalent experience.
- Strong/Proven analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Must have a basic understanding of and be able to use the concept of moments to calculate capacity.
- Ability to work on many projects simultaneously without supervision. Self-motivated, assertive, and proactive attitude.
- Strong computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven, strong project management and organizational skills necessary
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on projects and tasks.
- Working knowledge of BAAN and Salesforce, a plus.
- Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without any sponsorship
ENVIRONMENTAL / PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is located in an office environment with regulated heating and cooling. Work is performed using a computer and monitor, as well as basic office equipment. The incumbent may be exposed to any of a wide range of conditions if required to travel outside the office. This would include visiting a manufacturing location, the engineering lab area, a customer site, CLARK Warehouses, etc. The incumbent must be able to be mobile in various environments.
