The Delivery and Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting our growing business, which now includes Lighting Control and Motorized Shades alongside our core lighting fixtures. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is expanding its technical offerings and providing top-notch service to clients. The primary focus is to ensure smooth, efficient delivery and installation, while offering exceptional technical support and troubleshooting assistance across our range of products. As we evolve our Systems business, this role will provide hands-on experience with cutting-edge lighting and shade technologies, making it ideal for a technically skilled individual who values quality and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently deliver products and equipment to customers' locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Troubleshooting the previous installation, setup, and configuration of products and systems at client sites, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to company specifications.
  • Conduct diagnostics, troubleshoot and minor repair of products, on-site or in-house, including basic electrical replacements.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs, such as replacing decorative fixtures, LED drivers, and other similar components, in accordance with safety protocols and company standards.
  • Assist the Shade Installer in the installation of motorized shades, ensuring proper setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting as we expand into the motorized shade business.
  • Provide excellent technical support to customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and issues professionally and courteously.
  • Train customers on the proper usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our products and equipment to enhance their overall experience and reduce support requests.
  • Maintain detailed records of service calls and repairs while accurately documenting all activities, including equipment condition, parts used, and time spent.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for service and delivery tasks, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards while performing service and delivery tasks to ensure the well-being of customers and colleagues.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail, delivering quality service which reflects positively on the company's reputation.
  • Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on new products, technologies, and industry trends to enhance technical skills and improve service efficiency.
  • Exercise due diligence to drive safely and maintain the performance and security of the vehicle and its contents. 

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in Electrical Technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a similar role, such as service technician, delivery driver, or field electrical technician, is preferred.  White glove delivery experience, a plus.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and minor repairs of electronic and mechanical systems. Basic understanding of electrical circuits, dimming systems and/or residential construction.
  • Comfortable and experienced with minor electrical work, such as fixture replacements and small-scale electrical troubleshooting, without requiring electrician-level expertise or certification.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with motorized shade installations alongside the Shade Installer, including performing basic configurations and minor troubleshooting.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with a strong dedication to providing exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, perform manual labor, and work in various weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, support team goals, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain a professional demeanor at all times

Compensation Range: $26- $28 per hour
