E-Commerce Sales Account Manager

 

Reporting directly to Vice President of E-commerce and Strategic Accounts within the Sales department, the E-commerce Account Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and presentation of products in the e-commerce channel for all Visual Comfort & Co. collections. As an account manager, you will be assigned specific accounts and will be held accountable for sales goals by collection. Responsibilities will include addressing the daily needs of the assigned accounts, developing strategic account plans, ensuring premium product placement and brand compliant online merchandising, conducting product training, and leading account meetings and customer visits. 

 

The E-Commerce Manager is also responsible for assisting with online products and shopping experience optimization for our product offering. This position will also be responsible for supporting the sales strategy to drive maximum revenue and conversion. In addition, this position will be involved in launching new products and promotional campaigns, optimizing digital marketing, and delivering financial targets. The E-Commerce Account Manager will also work cross-functionally with the Marketing, Sales Analytics, Product Management and Operations departments to achieve results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze B2B partner sites regularly to ensure accuracy and make recommendations to enhance overall brand experience online
  • Lobby for top product placement and presentation on-site using data analytics to understand customer interaction with site content, product and price range, and general online shopping experiences
  • Audit current vs. discontinued product and remove obsolete items to ensure online assortment is always current
  • Onboard and maintain current imagery, videos, designer bios and headshots, collection logos to ensure the B2B partners’ presentation of our products and designers are compliant with our brand standards
  • Spearhead e-commerce channel and big box private label initiatives, working closely with our Product Development team and our Sales Analytics team to ensure margin expectations are met
  • Execute channel wide and customer specific promotions accurately and on-time
  • Conduct monthly calls or in-person meetings with key accounts to stay on task for joint initiatives to drive results
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Logistics, and occasionally with executive management to ensure strategic alignment on product launches and promotions
  • Provide actionable insights on major revenue blockers and propose improvements to current processes, fostering continual enhancement of our e-commerce operations
  • Lobby for top product placement and presentation on-site using data analytics to understand customer interaction with site content, product and price range, and general online shopping experiences
  •  Negotiate annual programs with key partners
  • Conduct product and sales training across our collections for key accounts
  •  Utilize internal resources and reporting tools such as Power BI to identify growth opportunities
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in sales, marketing and/or e-commerce, or training adult learners preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree (from a school accredited by the U.S. Department of Education) required. A degree in business, communication, sales, merchandising or marketing is a plus
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted
  • Experience and knowledge of product positioning, e-commerce marketing and brand strategy is preferred
  • Experience with big box retail is also a plus
  • Knowledge of Visual Comfort & Co products and/or lighting industry experience preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Must demonstrate maturity in judgement, commitment, dependability, punctuality and  adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by manager
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to travel overnight 25% - 35%
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to speak in front of large groups
  • Must have the ability to directly interface with e-commerce accounts to manage daily requests with minimal supervision
  • Must be a self-starter who is motivated and outgoing with strong social skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills are essential to ensure all critical deadlines are met
  • Basic knowledge of data and metrics used to measure performance and determine improvements using Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Strong communication skills, creative thinking, and attention to detail
  • Strong project management, time management, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment where priorities change often
  • Aptitude for data analysis
  • Initiative to take on new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000
