Summary

The Clinical Trainer reports to the Director of Training and partners with Behavioral Health/Clinical Best Practice leadership to identify and address clinical development needs across the system. This role is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training and coaching programs for new and existing staff.  Training will focus on trauma-informed care, evidence-based practice models, policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a robust and compliant training framework that supports the clinical and professional development of staff. The Clinical Trainer will also actively participate in the Clinical Training Institute and the CEU Committee, developing Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and develop engaging and effective training curricula for a variety of learning styles and needs, incorporating adult learning principles and backward planning. This includes onboarding programs, clinical skills training, and continuing education courses.
  • Lead clinical training programs across Behavioral Health, focusing on evidence-based practice models, clinical documentation best practices, and relevant policies and procedures. Facilitate onboarding training for new staff, ensuring familiarity with organizational policies, clinical best practices, and required procedures.
  • Create assessments to measure training effectiveness and learner competency. Analyze training outcomes to identify areas for improvement and adjust curriculum and delivery methods as needed.
  • Design and implement a multi-pronged clinical training and staff/management development program. This includes developing training curricula, CEU and credentialing opportunities, and focused learning experiences such as case consultations. Ensures feedback and assessment loop with managers post-training.
  • Provide training on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, emphasizing clinical documentation best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Consistently evaluates impact of training retention and demonstration.  Collaborates with managers on assessment tools post-training. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Licensed Master/Clinical Social Worker (LMSW/CSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Psychologist.
  • A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health field.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Experience in instructional design and classroom delivery with a focus on evidence-based practices. 
  • Experience with adult learners, leveraging adult learning theory to ensure appropriate learning methods for diversity of learning styles
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation practices, EMR systems, and compliance requirements.
