We’re seeking a dependable, quality-driven Die Technician to join our manufacturing operations team in Pomfret Center, CT.

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Expected to clean and inspect Wire Dies, and assessing their condition based on the wear on the inside of the die
  • Daily, review schedule handed down by planning, and putting together Die Drafts for machines based on the order of the schedule
  • Packing up worn dies to be sent out to vendors for rework. Must keep track of all sizes and quantity sent to said vendors
  • Reworking dies in house, running machinery that will resize, and polish dies as needed for production. Will learn how to set up each machine and how to run them efficiently
  • Sizing dies in digital microscope to accurately size them for production Die Drafts, as well as sizing wire using micrometer or a laser micrometer

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Able to accurately make measurements and math calculations relative to tolerances and dimensions. Able to accurately calculate decimal and fractional equivalents in the production process. Able to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to check work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to read and understand material lists, specs, inspection standards, and production orders. Able to instruct, operate and work from detailed instructions and make decisions as to the quality and operation of equipment, machinery, and product. An aptitude for solving technical problems/issues. 

Experience and Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Entry level understanding of Microsoft Excel/Word
  • 1 year of Manufacturing Experience preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to work as a team member, will be working closely with other employees
  • Good multi-functional worker. Needs to be able to handle multiple projects
  • Basic Mathematics: will be working with multiple calculations required in the Die Shop Processes 
  • Must comply with OSHA PPE requirements: Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots, in ear protection etc
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision once properly trained
