Job Title: Multi Hole Machine Operator                     

 Reports to: Operations Manager                       

 Location:  Union

 Department: Operations

 

Position Overview: The Multihole operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of the Multihole Machine. This includes continuously monitoring speed, coating level and wire surface quality. Additionally, the operator will become proficient in the various job specific skills required by a Multihole Operator.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications.
  • Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates.
  • Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.
  • Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance.
  • Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine)
  • Obtain all required approvals.
  • Label packages.
  • Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machines.
  • Record and document production as well as all downtime.
  • Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.
  • Complete all documentation and turn in work order to supervisor.
  • Train new operators.
  • Cut samples for quality control.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Read SDS’s to familiarized with chemicals used
  • Authorize to request the initiation of an internal corrective action
  • Place material on hold, if necessary, stop production when nonconforming wire is found
  • Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Department Duties and responsibilities:

  • Adjust machinery including changing dies, speed, temperature, process gases, etc.
  • Consistently string payoff; point weld, and grind material as applicable
  • Consistently set up by measuring wire diameter between each draw
  • Set up and operate coat machines
  • Monitor wire quality
  • Focus on machines that need constant attention
  • Work in various temperature environment
  • Work in a dusty environment

 

 

 

 

Other Duties:

  • Work overtime as required.
  • Assist production manager and other operators as necessary
  • Ability to communicate – verbal and written.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry purposes
  • Ability to lift a minimum of   50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Constant standing & walking
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching
  • Multi-Tasking skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • 1-2 years in industrial machinery
  • Predictable and consistent attendance is required
