Central’s internship program is customized to each internship placement. The program provides members with dedicated time to gain first-hand experience while solving unique business problems. Each internship will be different; however, at its core, the program consists of the following opportunities:

  • Immersive experiences in challenging and meaningful work with built-in continuous learning opportunities
  • Direct impact on work that matters and opportunities to affect successful outcomes and drive corporate objectives
  • Build a lasting professional network through events and activities

Loss Control Internship

  • Gain valuable insight into the role of loss control within the insurance industry and how we deliver value to our policyholders
  • Opportunity to complete assigned tasks and projects that may include but not be limited to conducting small risk and phone surveys, report writing, assisting with bulletin and procedural guide updates, providing research and support for survey guides, department newsletters, webinars, and vendor research
  • Work independently on projects and present project results
  • As assigned, travel with experienced Central Loss Control, Central Underwriting, or Distribution personnel to area insurance agencies and businesses

Ready to dive in? Ideal candidates for this program are:  

  • College major relevant for a position in the insurance industry such as: Insurance or Risk Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or other related majors
  • Interest in insurance related careers
  • Motivated to accomplish big things while demonstrating the upmost level of integrity
  • Curious to seek out new experiences, knowledge and feedback
  • Insightful and interested in analyzing information and suggesting new possibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build meaningful relationships with customers
  • Adaptable and determined to strive for excellence despite challenges
  • Strong PC skills
  • Must have valid Driver’s License
  • ⁠Must be able to climb ladders and access building rooftops

Effective Work Dates run from May 2025 through August 2025 (summer break)
