IT Business Systems Analyst II, Healthcare Technology
Role Overview:
Under the direction of the Leader, Quality Assurance/Business Analyst Team Lead, and in close partnership with the business unit leadership, the IT Business Systems Analyst II will identify, design, and implement technology-based solutions that improve service, lower operating costs, and increase revenue. The IT Business Systems Analyst II will execute a systematic approach to gather, organize, document, communicate business and systems requirements, including development and testing of business process solutions for all lines of business. The IT Business Systems Analyst II acts as business liaison between users/customers and Information Technology Systems.
Role Responsibilities:
Engages in business process analysis and requirement solicitation/documentation for process, system, technology, and operational changes
- Schedules and facilitates meetings with staff at all levels of the organization to identify current business processes and future/desired state processes.
- Provides timely feedback to all meeting participants.
- Applies strong business, technical and consulting practices knowledge to collect and analyze data to assist in business process assessments, to document requirements definition, to perform gap analyses, to support training development, and to assist in software evaluation and implementation to meet business and user needs.
- Participates in system design to identify solutions that can be implemented to meet business need.
- Documents business and software requirements in tools provided.
- Evaluates and prioritizes the feasibility of alternate business processing.
- Works closely with business unit leaders and development/QA teams to ensure that developed functionality meets requirements.
- Works closely with the design, development, delivery, and QA teams to ensure that products are built to specifications and on time.
- Views and handles business processes as corporate assets and maintains appropriate levels of security and confidentiality.
Participates in the definition, documentation, and creation of defined functionality
- Creates defined functionality based on business requirements, technical requirements, functional specifications, and systems analysis.
- Documents defined functionality using tools provided by the organization.
- Works with development teams to help define or clarify business logic requirements.
- Analyzes requested changes to defined functionality to determine impact on current production process.
- Implements and validates modifications to existing processes.
Participates in the development and validation of software application and system facilitated processing
- Creates or assists in the development of test plans and test cases.
- Participates in the testing of the implemented system with QA team, Development team, and user community to identify flaws, gaps, overlap, circular logic, etc.
- Participates in the testing and validation of defined functionality.
- Participates in regression testing of defined functionality modifications.
- Documents issues and works with the lines of business to revise system facilitated processing functions.
Provides continuous process improvement for business system analysis activities in the organization
- Identifies opportunities to standardize the process for gathering and diagramming business requirements.
- Maintains and modifies requirement and defined functionality templates and diagramming techniques.
- Utilizes change control processes for business and system artifacts.
- Identifies and quickly assimilates new tools and techniques for gathering and recording business requirements.
- Identifies opportunities and implements or works with technical staff to implement enhancements to existing tools.
Provides support for business processing across the lines of business and software applications
- Serves as point of contact for business requirements, system troubleshooting, problem resolution, technical training, and ongoing assistance.
- Effectively communicates status with internal customers and external clients
- Completes Production related modifications, as needed, with tools provided.
Engages in key miscellaneous tasks
- May assist in the creation of user guides, reference materials, and training materials
- Prepares documentation and reports as requested by the ITS Leadership.
- Communicates effectively with internal customers and external clients.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Associate degree with appropriate experience will be considered
- Minimum 3-6 years’ experience in an IT-related position, such as information business analyst, or systems analyst. Health care experience desired.
