We are seeking a Sr. Product Manager, Utility Market who will work closely with our strategy, marketing, and delivery teams to identify market needs, design and validate solutions, and bring them to market. Whether you’re an experienced Product Manager looking to deepen your expertise or a utility DSM professional eager to expand into product management, this role provides the mentorship, resources, and collaborative environment to help you succeed.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and carry out continuous discovery plans with customers, end users and Cascade delivery personnel to validate market opportunities.
  • Formulate potential Cascade services and enhance existing services into attractive, distinctive, and replicable products. Assess financial impact and align product strategies with Cascade’s overall business goals.
  • Through designs, prototypes and pilots, guide cross-functional teams to validate solutions that add value to Cascade’s programs in various ways.
  • Work closely with our sales and marketing teams to develop compelling positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences; assess and size markets; coordinate cross-team collaborate on creating and executing go-to-market plans and proactively develop sales enablement tools.
  • Collaborate with teams across Cascade to document, share, and scale best practice adoption of new products.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Products and other staff to develop and communicate strategic priorities.

This is a full-time, exempt position to be located in our Corporate Office of Portland, Oregon.  Two days per week in office and hybrid environment.  Outside travel is expected to be <5%.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in engineering, business administration, marketing or related field
  • 8+ years of experience working with utility-sponsored energy efficiency or demand response programs, with preference to experience in the industrial sector OR 8+ years of product management experience in B2B environments with preference to an industrial or utility customer market.

For candidates with a core competency in demand-side management, we would prefer exposure or experience to product management best practices. For candidates with a core competency in product management, we would prefer coursework, certificates, or work history in fields related to industrial processes, energy efficiency or sustainability.

 

Valuable (but not required) experience includes:

  • DSM program management or business development
  • Customer relationship management
  • Product management certifications
  • Energy management certifications

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The salary range for this position in Portland, Oregon is $115,500 - $144,375 /year. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
