The Cove in the Academic Enrichment Center seeks a full-time (1908 hours) Assistant Director and Tutoring Coordinator. This individual is responsible for coordinating the tutoring program in The Cove, assisting the Director of The Cove, and overseeing additional administrative functions.

The Assistant Director and Tutoring Coordinator in the Cove hires and manages all peer tutors, coaches, lab tutors, and peer organizational coaches in The Cove. Additionally, this role maintains certification as a Tutor Trainer and remains current with National Tutoring Association guidelines and best practices in higher education. The individual in this role markets and promotes The Cove tutoring program to students. This role is also responsible for providing oversight of The Cove in the absence of the Director, support to faculty teaching the Foundations and MAP courses, research and analysis to the Director of The Cove, proctoring student exams for Disability Services as needed, event management, assisting with department policy, presenting or co-presenting at campus meetings, and problem-solving for office effectiveness and efficiency.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in higher education preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize workload
  • Ability to learn new tasks, adapt to frequent changes, and remain poised in complex situations
  • Proven ability to effectively handle crisis situations and confidential information with professionalism, tact, and respect
  • Service-driven, team oriented, flexible, and adaptable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and other campus software programs
  • Proven ability to interview, hire, train, and effectively manage multiple student employees
  • Ability to effectively solve problems
