The Cedarville University School of Nursing seeks faculty applicants for a full-time, twelve-month opportunity at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in our graduate programs. Rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Cedarville University School of Nursing faculty influence the nursing profession for Jesus Christ. This purpose is accomplished by faculty members contributing to nursing knowledge in their area of expertise, providing leadership in nursing and health care arenas, and teaching students how to practice nursing grounded in biblical truth. Each faculty member is expected to engage in these activities through teaching and mentoring students, scholarship, service, and growth in Christian character, and by developing and maintaining relationships with local and/or global health care agencies and nursing services.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and/or teach courses, including clinical experience; integrating Christian concepts and principles as assigned.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Assume an equitable share of the responsibility for teaching, testing, and evaluation.
- Select appropriate sites and learning experiences; supervise and evaluate students in health care settings.
- Maintain a high level of current knowledge in the assigned teaching area.
- Facilitate student participation and active learning when appropriate.
- Advise and mentor graduate nursing students as assigned.
- Engage in scholarly activities to grow nursing knowledge, provide leadership, and influence the nursing profession for Christ.
- Participate in service activities to apply biblical principles of faith and love in our relationships with colleagues, neighbors, church family, and the nursing profession at large.
- Grow in Christian character, demonstrating obedience to God, setting an example for students to follow, and unity of spirit and purpose with colleagues.
Position Requirements:
Tenure track position
- Doctoral degree (PhD, DNS, DNP, EdD) required.
- Baccalaureate or master’s degree must be a nursing degree (Ohio Board of Nursing requirement).
- Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse and/or advanced practice nurse.
- Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Leadership experience or qualifications that align with nursing leadership, preferred.
- Profession of faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
- Qualified applicant must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant and General Work Place Standards
- Weekly corporate worship at a local church
Non-tenure track position
- Doctoral degree (PhD, DNS, DNP, EdD) required.
- Master’s degree (MS, MSN). Nursing degree preferred.
- Baccalaureate or master’s degree must be a nursing degree (Ohio Board of Nursing requirement).
- Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse and/or advanced practice nurse.
- Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Profession of faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
