The School of Pharmacy at Cedarville University invites applications for a faculty position as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Rank is commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates will teach courses in the Pharmaceutical Science department related to any of the following disciplines: pharmaceutics, drug and dosage form development, medicinal chemistry, immunology, and pharmacology. The candidate’s teaching must involve student-focused methods of active learning geared primarily towards Doctor of Pharmacy students. The candidate is expected to work with faculty across disciplines to develop integrated curricular content which utilizes innovative strategies in active learning methods. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining an active research initiative while overseeing student research projects. Additionally, the candidate should have a history of demonstrating leadership in his or her respective discipline. Other areas of interest and expertise will be considered based on departmental needs.
Primary responsibilities include didactic teaching responsibilities, research and scholarship, and service to the department, school, university, and the profession. Didactic teaching responsibility and course coordination will be assigned based upon the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. The candidate will also maintain active research and supervise longitudinal research projects for Doctor of Pharmacy students. Additional research opportunities also exist for partnering with other health sciences disciplines in the region.
This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials and other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. Position Requirements:
- Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and pharmacology or related field.
- At least one year of post-doctoral experience, either in teaching or research
- Demonstrated productivity in research and scholarship in pharmaceutical sciences
- Research experience in the pharmaceutical sciences is highly recommended but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Committed to biblical integration in and out of the classroom
- Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian
