The School of Arts and Humanities at Cedarville University invites applications for a tenure track-eligible Assistant/Associate Professor of International Studies to instruct in our undergraduate History and Government program beginning in August 2024.

Expertise in International Relations/Comparative Politics is required. An ability to teach American Politics and/or quantitative methods is preferred. All candidates will be responsible for instructing a general education course in government as well as upper-level offerings within their area of expertise. Candidates will be asked to teach from a distinctively Christian worldview.

Essential responsibilities of the position include twenty-four semester credit hours of teaching, or the equivalent, each academic year of two semesters; academic advising, professional development, scholarly activity in the field, university service and committee membership, and writing a formal paper on the Biblical integration of faith, learning, and teaching. 

This position is subject to the University's verification of credentials along with other information required by law and Cedarville University policies, including the successful completion of a background check. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is pending budget approval. This position is located in Cedarville, Ohio.

Position Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in an applicable discipline (ABD candidates will be considered), or a JD with relevant career experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member.
  • Documented successful teaching and scholarship experience.
  • Commitment to biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
  • Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
