POSITION SUMMARY
The Server helps create a joyful and vibrant community by providing prompt and excellent service to residents when serving meals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Relays orders to the kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
- Observes diners to anticipate needs, respond to any additional request(s) and to determine when a meal has been completed.
- Prepares items such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays.
- Maintains a clean dining room. This includes all equipment, walls, table tops and bases, and chairs. Ensures linens are changed as needed and table top condiments and salt and pepper shakers are kept clean.
- Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
- Maintains assigned station, including table pieces and chairs.
- Delivers prompt and courteous service.
- Washes and puts away dishes as needed.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Basic knowledge of various kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Maintains current Food Handler’s card required.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Relates positively and communicates appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
- Pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 30 pounds.

- Competitive Compensation Program - Actual pay rate will be calculated based on relevant years of experience and education/certification requirements.

- Time worked on the following holidays is paid at 1.5 times your normal hourly pay: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas
