POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Relations Director helps create a joyful & vibrant community by managing the community’s inquiry and admission process and providing customers with information via tours of the community, personal visits/assessments, conversations and follow-up. The Community Relations Director also implements effective sales and marketing programs to increase occupancy and secure move-ins at the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages the community’s sales activities by helping families and residents move through the sales process to move-in.
- Responsible for fulfilling budgeted occupancy and move in goals.
- Maintains and improves upon the occupancy level and revenue production of the community to include managing the inquiry process and completing all activities required to secure move in to the community.
- Manages the move in process by assisting prospective residents, their family members, and/or advisers in the decision-making process by understanding their needs and educating them about the community’s services and programs.
- Works with Maintenance to ensure apartment readiness for move-ins; maintains model apartments, and ensures the community is always tour ready.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills to all customers.
- Responsible for taking referral information from telephone and walk-in inquiries, obtaining necessary personal, clinical, and financial information.
- Works with the Business Office Manager to ensure prompt coordination for financial verification and ensures financial verification and forms are accurate and complete.
- Coordinates the pre-admission process and acts as liaison between the customer and the community.
- Coordinates the pre-admission process to include clinical information to identify care/service needs and financial information.
- Obtains approvals from clinical team to ensure consistent pre-admission process. Works with clinical team to obtain clinical information from physicians’ offices and/or hospital as needed.
- Participates, in stand-up meetings to provide updates on referrals, pending move-ins and scheduled tours. Trains other staff on how to provide an effective tour.
- Represents the community and increases awareness through participation in outreach to medical and community referral sources, coordination of internal and external events, professional groups, and community involvement in the local market.
- Analyzes occupancy trends within the local market and with competitors in order to achieve full occupancy with waitlists.
- Attends and participates in in-service training.
- Completes necessary move in paperwork with resident and/or resident representatives and family members.
- Knows Resident Rights. Helps residents exercise and/or protect their rights.
- Reports resident complaints to management.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
- Follows and adheres to policies and procedures, implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Demonstrates skills in problem solving, conflict management and budgeting.
- Possesses excellent leadership skills and has a caring disposition.
- Has a neat, professional, courteous manner and appearance.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to ready, write, speak and understand English.
- Experience interacting and working with hospital-based clinicians (physicians, nurses, discharge planners and social workers).
- Experience in an outside sales and marketing role, with demonstrated experience in making sales calls to healthcare professionals.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and has access to a vehicle.
- Maintain current Food Handlers card.
- Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
