Head Cleaner

- Summary of Role
The Carnegie Hall Cleaners are a part of a dedicated team creating extraordinary experiences for audiences with world-class support. We are seeking a motivated Head Cleaner to lead this team in ensuring that all areas associated with Carnegie Hall performances are prepared for audiences, guests, and staff.
Reporting to the Front-of-House Manager, the Head Cleaner offers supervision and guidance to the team integral in providing a pristine and welcoming environment prior to, during, and following our events across three venues. In addition to completing essential work required for a Hall Cleaner, the Head Cleaner will assist Hall Operations and assume supervisory duties when members of the Hall Operations team are not present.
Based on the Carnegie Hall production calendar, the working schedule for this position will be determined by the Front-of-House Manager and with respect to the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU-32bj. Responsibilities, tasks, and special skills listed below are not meant to be all-inclusive.
- Responsibilities & Tasks
- Prioritize and Oversee Work: Set priorities for tasks and ensure efficient completion of work assignments.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct initial inspections to confirm that all work meets Carnegie Hall’s high standards.
- Safety and Maintenance: Regularly inspect the work environment and equipment to identify and address any hazardous conditions.
- Adaptability: Adjust work plans as needed to respond to unforeseen circumstances, reassign tasks as necessary, and report changes to the House Manager’s Office.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures by the team.
- Training: Provide training and guidance to new hires.
- Special Skills
- Effective Communication: Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Carnegie Hall’s staff and the Hall Cleaners.
- Production Schedule Proficiency: Strong understanding of Carnegie Hall’s production schedule and the ability to coordinate tasks associated with the schedule.
- Task Management: Skilled in prioritizing, delegating, and supervising tasks efficiently.
- Job Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of all related duties and responsibilities based on Carnegie Hall events.
- Inspection Expertise: Experienced in inspecting venues and facilities to maintain high standards.
- Timely Execution: Proven track record of completing tasks efficiently within set time constraints.
$31.19 hourly
