Temporary Assistant, Weill Music Institute

Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute seeks a part-time, temporary assistant for February 2025 – June 2025. This position reports to the Managers of Early Childhood Programs and Social Impact Programs, supporting programs including the Lullaby Project, Big Note Little Note, Early Childhood Concerts, Family Days, and the B-Side, and with a specific focus on administrative duties.
This role will be needed on a consistent basis of 6 hours/week, with additional hours needed leading to major events. Candidate should be prepared to work increased hours (up to three 8-hour workdays, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM) during the weeks of: February 24 – 28, April 14 – 18, April 27 – May 2, May 5 – 9, May 16 – 30.
Responsibilities:

Assist with administrative office tasks and workshop/event preparations including ordering, assembling, and/or shipping materials; compiling and editing copy; copying, printing, filing, mailing, scanning, and other project-based work as assigned.

Attend/staff onsite and/or offsite programming

Support team calendaring/scheduling as needed.

Assist team in compiling and submitting contract requests for teaching artists, workshop facilitators, performers, and local, national, and international partnerships as needed.

Manage community email inbox as needed

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Temporary assistant must be detail-oriented, confident, self-motivated, a collaborative team member, and have a proven ability to multitask and strong organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, as well as ability to problem-solve and trouble shoot on the spot. Candidate must be able to work independently on a variety of administrative tasks. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office required. Experience in Outlook preferred.
Flexible scheduling available toward a 20-hour work week. Some weekends and evenings may be required. Start and end dates are flexible.
