Carnegie Hall seeks a Temporary Manager. The Temporary Manager, House Manager’s Office, supports Hall Operations in the day-to-day planning and execution of performances across Carnegie Hall’s three venues. Reporting to the Associate Director of Hall Operations, this temporary position is a highly collaborative role, working closely with audiences, artists, producers, and staff. The successful candidate must be able to work a 3pm-11pm schedule, dependent on the Carnegie Hall production calendar. And must deliver an exceptional experience amidst competing demands addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

· Collaborate with Front-of-House staff in maintaining schedules and preserving the articles of their collective bargaining agreements.

· Ensure teams provide courteous, helpful service and exercises common sense and good judgment in all interactions with Carnegie Hall’s staff, guests, and artists.

· Facilitate day-of event logistics for all concerts and related activity.

· Ability to lead meetings with the Head Usher, Assistant Head Usher, Captains, and Usher staff.

· Prepare and update usher payroll for submission.

· Maintain the appearance of all public spaces and liaise with appropriate departments on maintenance requests.

· Troubleshoot issues with ticket scanners, radios, assisted listening devices, and other technology associated with performances.

· Provide leadership in emergency situations.

· Provide exemplary customer service.

· Uphold health and safety protocols.

Special skills preferred:

· Previous experience working with world-class artists, producers, and union staff required.

· Demonstrated interest in performing arts, music, and/or education.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Positive and collaborative mindset.

· Problem solver who can present solutions in a clear and concise manner.

· Highly organized individual who can prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.

· Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements.

· Experience with SharePoint, Artifax, Tessitura, Proxyclick, and DocuSign preferred.

· Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

· Certificate of Fitness F-03: Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel and CPR certification desirable.

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule which will consist of nights, weekends, and holidays. All efforts are made to ensure consecutive days off each week.

· Ability to stand for long periods.

· Ability to frequently climb stairs without a handrail.

Salary Range: $35 - $40 per hour ($1,400 - $1,600 Weekly)
