Golf Instructor
Job Summary:
The Golf Instructor 1 assists the Columbia Association General Manager of Golf and the Director of Instruction to manage player development. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all guests.
Promotes golf and responds to customer and guest needs to increase their enjoyment while at Fairway Hills & Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club. Committed to ensuring all members and guests receive the best service and always with a customer friendly attitude within the Sport and Fitness Division.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The major responsibility in this position is player development through Get Golf Ready and Rec and Parks golf classes.

Give personal instruction when not engaged in other aspects of the golf instruction program.

Assist in Player Development programs using PGA and LPGA tools and resources.

Perform all duties in accordance with the Columbia Association mission, vision, and values

Stay updated regarding information and developments in both the golf division and across the Columbia Association

Promote a hospitable environment by greeting everyone with a smile and practicing Columbia Association’s 6/12 rule.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Achieve a working knowledge of Columbia Association and the Golf Club’s vision and mission statements and General Plan.

Assisting General Manager in creating a friendly, service-oriented culture and atmosphere at the club

Assisting General Manager in the general Promotion & Marketing of the golf program at the club

Monitors activities of people using golf course facilities to ensure that golf rules are followed.

Promotes Columbia Association Golf’s philosophies throughout the golf course to both team members and members/guests.

Be knowledgeable about and actively promote Columbia Association memberships, programs, and amenities

Stay updated on daily course developments and communicate consistent, thorough information to customers

Answers questions and provides information to people calling or visiting the golf course.

Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Follows company policies and procedures and effectively communicates them to subordinates.

Working knowledge of current computer program to enroll students into programs, capture students' information, and input students for lessons for tracking in latest CRM systems.
Requirements
Experience:
-
Extensive golf experience with service and customer focused attitude.
-
Several years of experience in golf or related business of the size and quality of CA’s golf operations.

Previous service-oriented experience.
-
Previous experience in teaching golf lessons.

Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must be mature, articulate and highly skilled in leadership, community relations, and customer service.

Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.

Self-motivated with desire to promote and market

Experienced in written and oral business communications

Service and customer focused attitude

Attend conferences, workshops, meetings and trade shows to stay up to date of marketing and business trends

Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations
Physical Demands of Job
-
This person will occasionally assist in carrying heavy items requiring lifting of up to 35 pounds.

He or she will also spend some time moving about on the golf course teaching lessons.

The duties of this job include physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing/listening, seeing, observing and repetitive motions.

This job is performed in a golf course environment; exposure to extremes in weather conditions; sometimes in a climate-controlled office environment.

Will be required to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
The pay rate for this position is $30/per hour. CA offers a positive, fun work environment and a generous benefits package.
