We are currently looking for a Tax Supervisor / Tax Manager in our Houston, TX office.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Tax Supervisor / Manager will manage state and local transaction tax audits / data and controls along with assisting with monthly compliance requirements.  This position will provide the maintenance of Boardwalk’s automated sales and use tax configuration in Vertex along with any testing that is necessary.  The successful candidate will need to respond to tax inquiries by external and internal customers in written and or verbal communications.  This position will also need to analyze the sales and use tax accounts. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in tax
  • Ability to manage audit data
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with auditors
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with a team
  • Expertise using and maintaining tax software applications
  • Experience with tax research software applications such as CCH or RIA
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Able to create tax reports using a report writer software
  • Strong Microsoft excel and access skills

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Vertex software experience

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related major

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Masters Degree or certification
