We are currently looking for an Engineer I/II/III/Sr. to work in our Houston, TX location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will function as an Estimating Engineer in the Estimating group and will report to the Estimating Supervisor. Some travel to field locations will be necessary.
The Engineer is responsible for developing engineered scopes of work and preparing cost estimates for natural gas and liquids pipelines and facilities. Facilities shall include interstate and intrastate: natural gas pipelines, meter stations, and compressor stations; liquids pipelines, meter stations, and pump stations. Applications shall include new grass roots facilities, modifications to existing assets, and integrity management enhancements. The Engineer also: compiles and keeps current industry pricing and benchmarking data to support cost estimating; collaborates with Commercial on customer needs and critical timelines; takes the initiative to collaborate with other Company departments on scope development; identifies project risks and clarifies estimate assumptions to manage contingency, escalation and unknowns; and communicates work product to Management and Commercial through effective written and verbal presentation skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in developing scopes of work and cost estimates.
- Strong analytical thinker with a high level of problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and exhibits open collaboration with others to seek out solutions.
- Ability to lead others and manage assignments in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office software.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years experience in developing scopes and estimates for pipeline facilities.
- Experience with risk-based estimating software.
- Experience in preparing and communicating capital expenditure risk based estimating models.
- Experience with project schedules.
- Field experience in construction related functions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
