Desktop Support Specialist
Vista Global Solutions is looking for a qualified Desktop Support Specialist for a full-time, 40-hour/week (Monday – Friday) position providing tiered IT support operations at Navy Health Clinic Corpus Christi (NHCC), with satellite clinics in Kingsville and Fort Worth. The Desktop Support Specialist’s role is to provide Tier II/III desktop support to the staff at NHCC on all user level information technology resources (desktops/laptops, printers, scanners, etc.). This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing assigned PC-based infrastructure. Works within a tiered system of support receiving customer tickets via a Service Now work order system, documenting work efforts within Service Now, resolving tickets within Service Now and/or elevating those tickets to higher levels of support (i.e Server Administration, Network Administration, Cyber, etc.).
Duties include:
• Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users and Service now helpdesk platform.
• Ensures a timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.
• Maintains the operation of the help desk and serves as focal point for customer concerns.
• Provides support to end users on a variety of issues.
• Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. • Provide functional use recommendations related to software, hardware and network.
• Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
• Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
• Provides second-tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware.
• Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
• Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
• Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems.
• This position requires some physical lifting of equipment.
• Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Some lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be called out to work off-shift for on-call or emergency situations. An equivalent amount of compensatory time will be scheduled to maintain a roughly 40-hour work week.
Minimum certifications required are CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+. A Microsoft Desktop certification (MCSA Win10, MCTS, MCDST) is preferred over A+ but not required.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a government Tier III background investigation.
Must consent to and provide documentation to support basic immunization/vaccination status (to include vaccination for COVID-19) to the local Occupational Health Office supporting Navy Health Clinic Corpus Christi.
Salary Range: $43,000.00-$46,000.00 Depending on Experience
