Technical Writer Journeyman

Eagle Integrated Services, LLC (EIS) is seeking Technical Writer support for a new client at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland.  The Ideal candidate will need a Secret Clearance to qualify, 

We are seeking a Technical Writer to support in the disciplines as listed, but not limited to, below:

 Responsibilities:

• Work closely with business application stakeholder(s) to define and document requirements
•  Write, edits, and help sections updates User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) copy.
• Creates and builds out user assistance infrastructure, including how-to sections, FAQs, and Help sections.
• Updates, edits, and proofreads written materials such as product manuals, user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs.
• Writes about technical subjects for technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Tests and updates existing documentation.
• Adheres to and updates in-house style guide.
• Create and collaborate in decision documentation by researching new technologies and offering critical analysis of pros and cons, considering the best fit for business application.
• Aid SEC team members in the knowledge transfer of the coding updates made to the business application to support customer requirements. Develop required documentation for comprehensive knowledge sharing.
• Collects user data to determine areas of documentation that need revision and updating.
• May serve on quality design, product development, or user experience teams.
• Given a desired outcome, able to identify and complete the work required without supervision.
• Provides guidance to others for resolving problems and completing complex tasks.
• Documents the specifications, design, features and operation of applications
• Writes and edits user manuals, help systems and other technical documents
• Creates and maintains diagrams representing system configurations and process workflows
• Designs and formats documents using document-creation software
• Interviews technical and functional stakeholders to obtain and validate documentation content.
• Understands, follows and promotes the values and principles in the Agile Manifesto
• Understands, follows and promotes continuous cyber security risk management

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline + 4 years of relevant experience all within the last 4 years.
• Three (3) additional years of applicable experience with appropriate certifications/relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. (Total 7 yrs experience)
• Experience and comfortability with Agile best practices
• Experience with high volumes of users and application optimization
• Strong customer support ability
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills (applications, services, servers, networking, etc.)
• Experience developing cloud-based applications
