STS Government Solutions, LLC (SGS) is seeking a Master Diver\Boat Operator to support operations in Portland, OR. to support specialized maritime operations. This role requires an expert in the operation, maintenance, and deployment of diving and maritime equipment, along with a proven track record of leadership in high-stakes, combat-readiness training environments. You will work closely with program managers to research emerging technologies and identify ways to enhance operational efficiency, combat survivability, and training methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain diving equipment, tactical water vessels, and ancillary gear, including RAMZ, Soft Duck, T-Duck, and Hard Duck packages.
  • Conduct waterborne Zodiac Hard Duck package pallet recovery, towing, and parachute/swimmer recovery operations.
  • Perform maintenance on small crafts, Zodiac boats, outboard engines, and related equipment following US Navy 3M standards.
  • Maintain high-pressure air compressors and ANU-approved underwater tools.
  • Provide boat operator support for maritime training, including RAMZ and other specialized training evolutions.
  • Assist with navigation, seamanship, Rules of the Road, and maritime communications.
  • Provide on-site technical observation and make ORM (Operational Risk Management) recommendations to enhance combat readiness, safety, and operational skills.
  • Administer and schedule all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual 3M maintenance requirements for diving equipment, including calibration of gauges and testing SCUBA/oxygen bottles.
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and hazardous material programs, ensuring compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between operators, ensuring command standards are applied across all contracted maritime operations.
  • Develop and update diver training policies, directives, and regulations in coordination with the Training and Standards/Evaluations Sections.
  • Maintain and repair small craft, including ARC, Whalers, RIBs, marine electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and maintain all maritime equipment in serviceable condition.
  • Schedule and oversee deployment and recovery operations, ensuring efficient and safe towing procedures.
  • Support administrative duties, such as submission of timesheets, trip reports, expense reports, and status updates.

 

Technical and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of military diving experience, including 5+ years as a recompression chamber supervisor with expertise in emergency diving treatment (NAVSEA SS 521-AG-PRO-010, Rev 7).
  • 10+ years of experience in maintaining open/closed-circuit underwater breathing systems, including high-pressure air compressors, storage flasks, regulators, and associated valves/piping.
  • Experience in Small Craft operation, Zodiac, and CRRC maintenance under US Navy 3M systems, as well as the operation of Navy Dive Computers and oxygen handling/transfer procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience in outboard engine maintenance and certification for watercraft, with expertise in marine electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with the US Navy Dive/Jump Reporting System (DJRS) and the ability to utilize agency specific safety automated system, as well as proficiency in Navy SKED software.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-level briefings, Bullet Background Papers, and Technical Reports.
  • Boat License required
  • Boatmaster certified preferred.
  • Class A Driver’s License preferred.
  • DoD-certified Master Diver or equivalent from the US Armed Forces
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the maintenance of marine outboard engines and certification in small engine and watercraft operations.
  • Knowledge of Seamanship, Navigation, and Rules of the Road.
  • Expertise in supply system and material ordering procedures, with strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to conduct high-level maintenance and repairs on ARC, Whalers, and RIBs with available facilities.

  • Act as a primary liaison between operational units and command elements, ensuring effective communication and task execution.
