Federal Assistant Program Manager
PPS is seeking an Assistant Program Manager in Merritt Island, FL.
Responsibilities:
• Direct interface with Program and Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, other APMs, and home office Operations Staff (Accounting, Contracts, IT, etc.).
• Support the PM with including but not limited to; project setup, subcontractor bid packages, purchase orders, invoicing, certified payrolls, scheduling, document preparation and submittal, project files and documentation, attending meetings, taking and distributing meeting notes, assisting with project commissioning/closeout and provide other project support as requested.
• Attend construction-related training.
• Assist PM on-site from time to time as needed.
• Occasional travel is required.
• Occasional work on job sites.
• Occasional overtime work as needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction project management support role and/or B.S. Degree in a related field or relevant experience that demonstrates overall knowledge.
• Thorough understanding of construction terminology, practices, and job site safety.
• Good knowledge of construction budgeting and management practices.
• Must be team-oriented and willing to assist other project coordinators as required.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to enter, access, and retrieve data from company databases.
• Ability to interact well at multiple levels with site and home office personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through with duties and assignments.
• Good organizational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to perform job requirements with limited day-to-day management support.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Procore, RMS and Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Experience with federal construction projects particularly DOD/USACE is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Environment:
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
