Position Overview:
As a Courtesy Clerk (Cash Office) you will be responsible for assisting customers by providing excellent customer service, working the courtesy desk & overseeing cashiers in the front-end.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Assisting customers with locating products, answering inquiries, and providing information about promotions or discounts
- Efficiently bagging groceries based on customer preferences as well as proper handling of items to prevent damage
- Assisting in loading groceries to customers’ vehicles if and when needed
- Retrieving shopping carts from the parking lot and returning to appropriate corrals
- Keeping storage areas clean, organized and free of debris
- Performing general cleaning duties, such as but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces to maintain a clean store
- Empty trash receptacles and making sure trash is properly disposed of
- Handle special customer requests including but not limited to providing assistance to elderly or disabled customers
- Assisting cashiers by organizing and maintaining bagging supplies
- Ensuring front end area including checkout lanes and entrance is clean and well organized
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Schedule:
- Open availability
- Ability to work AM, PM and Weekends
Experience:
- Preferred:1-2 years of cash handling experience
- Ability to oversee cashiers
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
