Position Overview:
As the Beer and Wine Department Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the department. You will oversee all aspects of the business including inventory management, customer service, and staff supervision. You will be driving labor efficiency, sales and gross profit margins in alignment with the store.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining an adequate stock levels by monitoring inventory levels and placing orders with suppliers as needed
- Monitoring product rotation and ensuring that expired or damaged products are promptly removed from shelves
- Developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers and retaining existing ones
- Planning and executing promotional events, tastings and other activities to drive sales
- Collaborating with suppliers to negotiate promotional pricing and securing exclusive deals
- Providing excellent customer service by handling customer inquiries, concerns and special requests in a prompt and professional manner
- Setting and achieving sales targets
- Monitoring sales performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability
- Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the work areas
- Monitor expenses, control waste and optimizing cost effectiveness
- Communicate with store management regarding inventory, sales and any issues within the department
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Environment:
- Ability to work in varying temperature-controlled environments.
Schedule:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Experience:
- Preferred: One (1) year liquor store management or liquor sales experience
- Serve Safe certification or comparable
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature-controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc.
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders daily.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality

- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
